“Our house batteries died two days before a trip. Shawn came out the next morning and had a full battery bank swapped before we needed to be on the road.”
“Our A/C quit on a brutal Tucson afternoon. Shawn talked us through a fix over the phone and had us cool again before he even arrived on site.”
“Knowledgeable, straightforward, and courteous — he called ahead when running a little late and explained everything in plain English.”
A little know-how before we ever show up
Slow-cranking lights, appliances that reset overnight, or a battery monitor that drops fast under load are all early warning signs. Lead-acid batteries typically last 3–5 years, AGM a bit longer — but heat is the real killer, and Tucson summers are hard on any battery bank. If yours is drooping faster than it used to, a load test (part of any battery visit) tells you whether it needs a top-off, a full replacement, or just a better charge routine.
A shredding tire can throw rubber and steel belting hard enough to punch straight through the subfloor and insulation from underneath — sometimes leaving a hole you can see daylight through, as some of our own job photos above show. Keeping tires properly inflated and replaced on age (not just tread depth — RV tires dry-rot from UV and heat before they wear out) is the cheapest insurance against this kind of damage.
A forced-air furnace (Suburban/Hydroflame) heats fast and cheap but runs loud and dries out cabin air. A hydronic system like Aqua-Hot circulates heated fluid to warm the coach quietly and can double as your water heater — great for cold-weather trips, but it's a more complex system with more that can go wrong. Either one needs an annual once-over before winter travel season, especially after Tucson's dry summer heat.
